PROJECT: A home for music and arts programs in a radically economical construction. Large rooms for Orchestra, Band, and Choral music instruction; digital arts; photography including wet lab; painting/sculpture studio; and an outdoor workshop space. The creative disciplines that require acoustic privacy or light control are grouped together on one side of the structure, enabling the remainder to be the best type of space for art production: spare, robust, unadorned, and flooded with natural light from the north. A lofty central gallery unites the program elements while providing for art display and impromptu performance.
